Monique Dyani Vigil

LAS CRUCES — Funeral services for Monique Dyani Vigil, 11, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the Family Worship and Praise Center, 1205 Ridgetop Ave.

Visitation for Monique will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, in Family Worship and Praise Center, 1205 Ridgetop Ave. Evening Services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road. The Rev. Matthew Garcia will officiate.

Vigil died Aug. 25, 2011. She was born June 23, 2000, in Farmington.

Vigil was a student at University Hills Elementary School and was a member of Family Worship and Praise Center and died after a long hard fought battle with brain cancer.

Survivors include her parents Adrian A. and Hidi M. Vigil; three brothers Marcos, Domnik and Shane Vigil; sister, Jade Vigil; grandparents Thomas and Mary Story and Adelmo and Soledad Vigil; great-grandmothers Margaret Montaño and Victoria Gamon; uncles Gabriel Vigil and Shawn Montaño; aunts Nicole, Maggie, Holly, Sarah and 12 cousins. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Elfido and Delia Vigil, and Jose Gamon.

Pallbearers will be Marcos and Domnik Vigil, Amadio Gonzales, Tyriq Phillips, Gabriel Vigil and Shane Montaño. Honorary bearers will be Adelmo Vigil, Thomas Story, Arthur Phillips, Mark Scully, Ian Simmons and Leroy Gonzales.

Bernadette Gorman-Peina

FORT DEFIANCE, Ariz. — Funeral services for Bernadette Marie Gorman-Peina, 30, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Artie Aragon will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Peina died Aug. 23, 2011, in China Springs. She was born Nov. 1, 1980, in Fort Defiance, Ariz., into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Black Sheep People Clan.

Survivors include her husband Micheal Peina; son Angelo F. Gorman; daughter Kylie M. Peina; parents Benedict Gorman Jr. and Mahlah Francelia Gorman; brothers Garren Burbank and Alzado Gorman and sister Perfelia A. Multine. Peina was preceded in death by her brother Fernando R. Hoskie, daughter Seneisa Johnson and grandmother Nellie T. Jumbo.
Pallbearers will be Micheal Peina, Alzado Gorman, Martin Haven, Elijah Pete, Brandon Tsosie and Harry Tom.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Fort Defiance Potter’s House in Fort Defiance, Ariz.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
